2:00 pm EST, [NEW TIME!] "Jewish and Chassidic Meditation," based on classics, Rabbi Avraham Maimonides son of Rambam, Piaseczna Aish Kodesh, Noam Elimelech, and the Chassidic Siddur Tefillah Yeshara (with the commentary of Keser Nehora and others) are presented by Rabbi Tal Moshe Zwecker, in the "Torah Chat" Room. 1 hour.

THURSDAYS:

3:00 pm EST, [WILL RETURN NOV. 23!] "Hands-On Talmud for Beginners," Rabbi Tal Moshe Zwecker's introduction to the Tractates with classic commentaries of Rashi, Tosfos and others, with emphasis on learning the Talmud Daf inside. Class assumes beginners Hebrew reading skills, but no previous familiarity of Talmud or Halacha is needed, in the "Torah Chat" Room. 1 hour.

 

  1. Introduction to Chassidus - (approx. 30 min.) This Shiur was given in a kosher Dunkin Donuts in Detroit to a group of NCSY 'ers who were about to meet my Rebbe the Cleveander Rebbe Shlit"a for the first time. It includes an  introduction to Chassidus and the Baal Shem Tov and has three stories and some questions and answers of what its like for a Baal Teshuvah.
  2. Finding a mentor / Jewish Meditation Part 1 / Finding a mentor / Jewish Meditation Part 2 - (each Part is approx. 30 min.) This Shiur was given in Yeshivas Derech Emes in Ramat Beit Shemesh. It begins with a few stories (about the Alter of Novardhak, R' Simcha Bunim of Peshischa and Rebbe Nachman of Breslov) and discusses finding one's mentor and Jewish Meditation,  gives practical examples including one from Sefer Charedim and one from the Piastczner Rebbe the Aish Kodesh. Here how to use Krias Shema, your watch and the day of death as tools for meditation.
  3. Noam Elimelech on Parshas Ki Seytzeh Part 1 / Parshas Ki Seytzeh Part 2 - (each Part is approx. 30 min.) This Shiur was part of a series given in the shul Kehilas Ahava veSimcha in Ramat Beit Shemesh. It discusses the Or haGanuz the hidden light of creation and the miztvah of maakeh (building a guard rail for a roof top) in a unique Chasidic perspective. 
  4. Noam Elimelech on Parshas Ki Savo Part 1 / Parshas Ki Savo Part 2 - (each Part is approx. 30 min.) This Shiur was part of a series given in the shul Kehilas Ahava veSimcha in Ramat Beit Shemesh. It discusses the statement in the Zohar that a Talmid Chacham is called Shabbos. It also discusses the first letter of Noam Elimelech's Tzeitel Katan or small pamphlet and how can relate to such an awesome idea as self-sacrifice and kiddush Hashem.
  5. Be'er Mayim Chaim on Parshas Ki Seytzeh Part 1 / Parshas Ki Seytzeh Part 2  - (each Part is approx. 30 min.) This Shiur discusses some very fundamental teachings in Chassidus including the war against our evil inclination, the 3 remedies our sages taught to fight it, the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov on how Hashem tests us and the parable from the Holy Zohar of the prince tested by his father, the parable of the soul as a princess married to a simpleton and more.
  6. Degel Machne Efraim on the Parsha - These are approx. 5 minute classes on one topic from the parsha.
