Avraham Yeshia ben Shlomo Zalmon Smiles may his memory be for a blessing

(Artist born February 13, 1924 – died August 9, 2009 (8th of Adar 1, 5684 – 19th of Av, 5769)

Besides being a Provider for his family , Shoshana Smiles ( wife of 58 years ) and Shlomo Zalmon Smiles of Skokie , Il and Marsa Footer of Davie, Fl, and Fivel Eliayhu Smiles of Ramat Beit Shemesh , He was a Artist in Jewish Themes. Also , he was the only one to put on tefillin in Pascagoula , MS for over a decade. He was the only one to have tefilin in at least a 50 mile radius and maybe 100 miles.  While he prayed, Pascagoula was never flooded!

His Sukka with 100 year old stained glass in it was the first Sukka built in Pascagoula, MS.

For Jewish Rituals, he used the Gulf of Mexico as a Mikveh.

He helped kosher the Kitchen of the Saar 5 in Pascagoula with Chabad RavRav Rivkin of New Orleans.

The Smiles Family had the only Kosher Kitchen in Pascagoula, MS.

He brought the first ever special Shmura Matza to Pascagoula.

He had the only Kosher Mezuzas in Pascagoula.

His home was full of Jewish Books and Jewish Art.
